About this role

Enjoy the best of both worlds balancing practice and people leadership. As the Senior Social Worker, you will

  • Support staff across our Post Adoption Teams in QLD and NSW, along with our early intervention Children’s Mental Health Team across Brisbane North
  • Partner with individuals and families who have complex needs to build their resilience and reach their full potential
  • Coach, advise and provide on the job support to build the knowledge and practice of our Counsellors and Child and Family Practitioners and increase positive outcomes for our clients
  • Work closely with the Leadership Team to evaluate and address learning needs

What you need to succeed?

You will have a tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or related discipline and:

  • Solid experience (5 years+) in the Community Services sector in Family Support, Mental Health, Counselling, Case Management or Adoptions
  • Strong understanding of trauma, loss and grief, mental health, child development and family functioning, adoption legislation in the Australian context and the impact of past practices; with the ability to link theory to practice
  • Experience working collaboratively with other services/teams to achieve the best outcomes for clients
  • Ability to mentor and support colleagues with assessments, case planning and therapeutic interventions
  • A commitment to own learning and development with a view to sharing learning’s with the team
